Stennis Getting Underway; Will Conduct Joint Aviation Training

USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) will depart Naval Base Kitsap-Bremerton (NBK) for an at-sea training period March 23. While transiting Puget Sound and the Strait of Juan de Fuca, Stennis will conduct joint service helicopter training with local Army aviation units.

The training, designed to increase proficiency of pilots and aircrew, is scheduled to begin near Admiralty Inlet and will consist of multiple takeoffs and landings throughout the day. Residents in the area may experience a temporary increase in aircraft noise.
