Naval Magazine Indian Island commanding officer Cmdr. Rocky Pulley and prospective incoming commanding officer Cmdr. Don Emerson participated in Port Townsend’s Rhododendron Festival Grand Parade on Saturday, May 18, 2019.
Pulley, Emerson and Navy Fire and Emergency Services personnel from Engine 91 were grateful for the hospitality from the crowds who lined the parade route.
Port Townsend hosts the Rhody Festival in the third week of May each year to celebrate the state flower, the rhododendron. Sadly, this was Pulley’s last parade event in Jefferson County as he is currently the process of turning over command to Emerson.
Pulley would like to personally thank all of the people who spend numerous hours to put together events like the Rhody Parade that further build a cohesive community between Jefferson County and the Navy.
